Make the finish part of the room concept

Compare samples with corridor lighting, wall coverings and frame finishes. For natural veneer, agree on the acceptable appearance and variation rather than expecting every leaf to look identical. The selected facing and finish must remain within the permitted product configuration.
Plan the guestroom hardware together
Electronic locks, viewers, closers and seals influence both appearance and daily use. Providing the selected models early helps coordinate the door preparations and the finished entrance details.
If the project has acoustic targets, ask for supporting information for the proposed configuration. A fire-rated wood door should not be described as soundproof simply because it contains a substantial core.
Connect design approval with product approval
For U.S. specifications referencing UL 10C, verify that the proposed wood fire door configuration has the required supporting certification. For Canadian hotels, request evidence appropriate to the destination requirements, including CAN/ULC-S104 where applicable. UL's Canadian certification information identifies the relevant door test standards.
These checks allow the design team to select within documented options before finishes and hardware are committed to production.
